German-Spanish Interpreter and Translator for Law Firms and Courts
I am a sworn interpreter for Spanish at the OLG Dresden — since 2011 — and a qualified lawyer holding a degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. This combination is at the heart of what I offer to law firms, public prosecutors and courts: I understand not only what is being said but also what it means in procedural and substantive terms. Since 2005 I have been working on criminal proceedings, family and civil cases, hearings and notarial deeds — and I have over 700 days of experience in BAMF proceedings.
What I do for law firms
- Client meetings in the firm’s offices or in remand custody, preparation for police interviews, trials and hearings
- Interpreting witness and suspect interviews with the police and the prosecutor
- Translation of case files, pleadings, judgments and indictments into Spanish
- Telephone and video interpreting for short follow-ups
- Accompaniment to notarial appointments in connection with powers of attorney or inheritance matters
I work regularly with criminal defence lawyers, family lawyers and migration lawyers in Leipzig, Dresden, Chemnitz and Halle.
What I do for courts and prosecutors
- Trial interpreting in criminal, family and civil matters
- Evidence-taking, witness and expert examinations
- Custody hearings, opening orders, judgment pronouncements
- Hearings before the investigating judge
BAMF proceedings — a league of its own
More than 700 days as an interpreter in proceedings of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). Hearings in initial and follow-up applications, revocation and withdrawal proceedings, Dublin hearings.
Court appointment and JVEG-based invoicing
In proceedings with court-appointed counsel, interpreter fees are invoiced under the JVEG. I am familiar with the procedure and can coordinate the application to the court office together with your firm.
The Federal Court Interpreters Act (GDolmG) 2023
With the GDolmG in force since 1 January 2023, sworn status has been placed on a uniform federal footing. Oaths taken under the previous state law, such as mine at the OLG Dresden, remain valid under § 189 (2) GVG until 31 December 2026.
Confidentiality
As a sworn interpreter, I am bound by law to professional secrecy under § 189 GVG. Sensitive documents are exchanged via secure channels.
